A technical talk on Smart Grid was arranged at KMEA Engg college, by Kochi Subsection, during the event of the IEEE SB inauguration of the college, on 12th September 2012. The technical session was handled by Er. Simon Akkara, Joint Director, Regional IT Unit , KSEB, Cochin. He explained the concepts of Smart Grids and the implementation possibilities and challenges in the Indian Scenario.

A seminar on Digital Image Processing was organized by IEEE Kochi Subsection, in association with the IEEE Student Branch of College of Engineering Kidangoor. Mr. Mohankumar, Director (R&D), Grey Technolab(India)Pvt.Ltd handled the session. Mr. Mohankumarexplained various techniques and technologies related to Digital Image processing. He illustrated many real world examples of Digital Image processing. He also gave live demo of image processing techniques.
