IEEE MGA approved the formation of IEEE Kochi on 25th June 2011 and the official formalities were completed by by February 2012. On 2nd March 2012, we received a Congratulatory Letter from IEEE MGA stating that all the formalities related to the formation of IEEE Kochi Subsection has been completed. As per this, the Kochi Subsection will be the second subsection under Kerala Section, covering Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappey and Thrissur Districts.
The Kochi Subsection was officially inaugurated on 21st April 2012, at CUSAT, Cochin. For the inaugural event many IEEE members including Kerala Section executives were present. Dr.Rajesh M.V welcomed the gathering. Dr. Unnikrsihnan, organizer and interim Chair of IEEE Kochi Subsection presided over the meeting. Mr.SatishBabu, the Chair of IEEE Kerala Section, officially inaugurated the IEEE Kochi Subsection, by lighting the lamp, along with other dignitaries. Mr.SatishBabu gave his inaugural speech. Prof.Dr.K. Paulose Jacob- Director, School of Computer Science, CUSAT; Mr. P.M. Sasi -Immediate Past Chair, IEEE Kerala Section & Chair, IEEE ComSoc, Kerala Section and Mr. Soman S.P- Chapter Patron &Past Chairperson- CSI Cochin Chapter gave felicitations. Mr. Shahim Baker gave the Vote of Thanks.
