The three day International Conference on Data Science & Engineering – ICDSE 2012 organised by Cochin University and technically sponsored by IEEE Kerala Section successfully concluded on 20th July 2012. The inauguralprogramme was Presided by Chair IEEE Kerala Section -Mr. SatishBabu and Inaugurated by Dr. RamachandranThekkedath, Vice Chancellor, CUSAT. The conference proceedings were released and handed over to Dr. A. Unnikrishnan, Chair , IEEE Kochi Subsection. A pre conference tutorial on “Managing Bigdata with Apache, Hadoop and MapReduce ” by Mr. Vijay Nair was well received with 50 participants on 18th . Out of the 179 papers . 42 shortlisted papers were scheduled for presentation for two days in 10 sessions withparallel sessions. 5 Invited talks from Industry and Academics werealso included.The informal Valedictory programme got all positive feedbacks from the participants who came from various parts of India and one from abroad.
